Our Founder

Asia-Twi McCallum

Asia-Twi McCallum is a nonprofit professional with 8 years of experience and a background as a working artist. She previously worked as a sound designer and engineer for Broadway, off-Broadway, regional theater, audiobooks, podcasts, television, and film. While freelancing full-time, she also served on nonprofit arts boards and co-chaired Design Action—experiences that sparked her transition into arts administration.

After returning from New York City to her hometown of Baltimore, Asia-Twi led grantmaking for nonprofits and individuals, distributing millions of dollars annually. There, she witnessed firsthand the harm caused by delayed payments—often consoling grantees waiting months for funds as small as $500 that were critical to paying bills or launching projects.

She is inspired by Paul Graham, famous venture capitalist/tech founder who has a Masters degree in visual arts— artists are gifted at solving real world problems! Loop Groop is supported through mentorship from Startups.com and Lightship Capital's Founder Gym.
